WHERE ARE YOU?

A simple but searching question. A question we have been asked innumerable times. Why? Your hiding. Your distracted by another matter. Your daydreaming and not paying attention. Whatever the reason the person asking the question is letting you know there is no longer communication. Where are you?

God was the first to ask this question. He spoke it to the man and woman He had just finished creating. God had made them in the image and likeness of Himself. Then He placed the man and the woman in a wonderful garden. They were given the tree of life to eat. This tree, representing God's life, if eaten would have given them another  life, the eternal life, in addition to the created life.  God and man would then have become eternal companions.

But, they became distracted. They ate of another tree, the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The result was not life but a constitution of death. The man and the woman knew something was wrong. They ran and hid from God.

Where are you? God called out.

Where are you? What is wrong? Why are you hiding? You know you cannot face God. Your acts may sometimes be OK. Your constitution is wrong. But, to face a holy righteous God—hide.

But God is not condemning you. He is asking you to come to Him. He knows something is wrong. and He has the solution. A Lamb, Jesus,  His precious Son, has been slain to be your righteousness. And He was raised to be your life. Open your heart to God's call. Receive God's provision. Acknowledge your condition and God will be your life!

It is your turn to call. Call, "Lord Jesus." You will know God and will have fellowship with God through Jesus!
